Almost three years ago, I received a phone call from a potential new client to set up a meeting at a nearby wine farm. Little did I realize that this meeting would turn into a divine appointment, taking me on a transformative three-year journey with one of the most iconic medical spa projects I have ever had the privilege to be part of.
I was appointed as the spa consultant to assist and guide Shirley van Wyk, the Managing Director of Terre Paisible Wine Estate, in designing, developing, and establishing a luxurious destination medical spa. This spa was envisioned not only as a state-of-the-art advanced aesthetic facility but also as a haven offering private, tailor-made solutions for each guest.
From my first visit to the farm, meeting in the original manor house destined to become the spa, it was clear that this project was unique. The space was vast, private, and complemented by breathtaking views—among the most spectacular I have ever seen.
Once we formulated a plan for what we wanted to achieve, I joined a team of experts in various fields. My role as spa consultant was to guide the setup of this specialized spa project from inception to completion.
Now open, Terre Paisible Medical Rejuvenation & Spa (TPMRS) rivals some of the world’s leading medical spas with its advanced aesthetic treatments, state-of-the-art facilities, and expert practitioners—all set within the tranquil, natural surroundings of South Africa’s famed Franschhoek Valley. The hydrotherapy area is another highlight, featuring a heated pool with rain showers and customized loungers that allow guests to relax completely while taking in views of the working vineyards.
Leading the advanced aesthetics team is Dr. Marle Le Roux, a globally renowned expert in cosmetic medicine and therapeutics. Treatments include the cutting-edge Ultherapy™, the global gold standard in non-surgical skin lifting and tightening. TPMRS also offers FDA-approved therapies such as the Emerald™ Laser, a revolutionary full-body fat loss treatment—available in South Africa for the first time through The Spa Warehouse. From non-invasive laser treatments to microneedling, all procedures require minimal downtime and deliver near-immediate rejuvenation.
Guests can also enjoy feel-good spa treatments using clinically approved skincare lines like Biologique Recherche, Esse Microbiome Skincare, Mesoesthetics, ZO Skincare, and Gentlemen’s Tonic.
The spa’s highly qualified therapists, each with over 10 years of experience in luxury spa and aesthetics, ensure every guest receives expert care. Additionally, the nurse practitioner conducts comprehensive medical skin and body consultations, enabling the team to design individualized programs tailored to each guest’s needs.
This project stands out as one of the most iconic advanced aesthetic medical spas I have ever worked on. It was an honor to serve as the spa consultant and play an integral role in its development.
